Valerie C. Toalson

Valerie Toalson is Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and President - Banking Services of Cadence Bank. Since joining Cadence in January 2013, she has leveraged more than 35 years of broad-based banking experience including over 19 years driving strategy as a CFO and key member of executive management. Current leadership encompasses Cadence’s wealth management units, mortgage, treasury and capital markets, corporate development, investor relations and corporate finance and accounting.

Prior to joining Cadence, Toalson served as CFO of BankAtlantic Bancorp and BankAtlantic N.A., and previously held several senior leadership positions at BOK Financial Corporation, including Corporate Controller, Manager of Credit Services, Manager of Process Improvement and Chief Auditor. Toalson began her career in audit at Price Waterhouse, where she received her certified public accounting (CPA) certificate.

Toalson earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Oklahoma State University. In 2019, Toalson was recognized by The Women's Resource of Greater Houston as an Outstanding Woman in Banking & Finance and in 2024, was awarded a Houston Top CFO designation by Top CFO. Deeply committed to her community, she serves on the board of Goodwill Industries of Houston and the advisory council of the Women's Resource of Greater Houston.
