Home Sweet Home: Ten Bossier City Families Will Be Homeowners Next Spring
Representatives from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) and four community banks, including Cadence, joined in celebrating The Fuller Center for Housing of Northwest Louisiana's (Fuller Center) 20th Anniversary Legacy Build. The program recently received a $45,000 grant to help cover administrative costs for building 10 new homes in Bossier City, Louisiana, which are scheduled to be ready for families next spring.
“These grants will help us do more than build homes. They help build stable futures,” said Lee A. Jeter, executive director of the Fuller Center, about the Legacy Build project that is now underway and the benefits the program brings to Northwest Louisiana.
The Fuller Center provides affordable houses to low- to moderate-income households in the Shreveport-Bossier City area who are unable to secure traditional financing. Homebuyers receive no-interest mortgages with affordable payments.
"The Partnership Grant Program (PGP) is about revitalizing neighborhoods, creating economic opportunities and giving hardworking families the stability they deserve."
Stefanie Y’Barbo, Relationship Manager at Cadence Bank
“Through our relationship with the FHLB Dallas and other community banks, we're helping expand the impact. This is community banking at its best, and that's why Cadence Bank is proud to support this mission."
The $45,000 grant was part of $1.2 million in PGP funds distributed through FHLB Dallas member institutions this year. Housing affordability and economic development are the cornerstones of the PGP program.
